Dot-addressable graphics consist of a field of dot places where a dot can exist or not exist. Dot matrix (pin printers) press the appropriate pin against the ribbon and thus the pager at the correct point on the paper to create a dot. An ink jet printer fires a droplet of ink at the appropriate place, and a laser printer turns on the laser at the appropriate time as the beam scanns the print roller.
Vector graphics are stored in a database of line lengths and orientations. Objects are drawn by placing lines end-to-end to create a particular shape. For example, a circle may be printed by placing many lines end-to-end.
Vector graphics can be resized or rotated with simple mathematics.
Many printers and computers store dot-addressable graphic images of various shapes that can be assembled into a picture (as mentioned in ASCII code above),
